Future AI, Where Are We Heading?

Future AI: Where Are We Heading?”  is a fast‑paced, story‑rich keynote that examines the real trajectory of artificial intelligence through the lens of The Time Forward Trilogy. Audiences follow the rise of Comperi (the first true AI mainframe) to confront questions we face now: what happens when AI can re‑write its own code, steer national security, and predict catastrophic futures better than we can?

Audiences will:

  • Separate today’s AI from the near‑future systems we’re realistically building toward.
  • Examine scenarios where AI misalignment, cyber‑warfare, and automated decision‑making spiral toward conflict.
  • Learn how narrative “test labs” can help leaders evaluate risk, ethics, and policy before reality forces the issue.

Ideal for: technology and innovation conferences, security and defense audiences, corporate strategy offsites.

The Time Forward Project knows a catastrophic Purge War is coming in 2098. They send genetically enhanced agents into the past to stop it—and keep discovering that inaction is often the deadliest choice.

This talk connects that narrative to our world:

  • What if we know a world‑ending risk is coming: climate, AI, nuclear, or otherwise?
  • Why do societies stall, and what finally pushes characters—and real leaders—to act?
  • How can organizations use “alternate timelines” to stress‑test strategy and build resilience?

Transmedia Storytelling: Building Worlds That Cross Books, Screens, and Games

Transmedia Storytelling: Building Worlds That Cross Books, Screens, and Games

Transmedia Storytelling: Building Worlds That Cross Books, Screens, and Games

Time Forward was built from the ground up as a rich story universe that can extend into film, television, audio, games, and interactive experiences.

In this session, John shares how he and Leanne approach:

  • Designing a core narrative strong enough to support multiple mediums.
  • Using characters like Kristen and Hunter as emotional anchors as the world expands.
  • Collaborating with publishers and media partners (The Story Plant, Gramarye Media) to expand IP thoughtfully.

Ideal for: writers’ conferences, IP strategists, game studios, and media producers.

What audiences learn

You can add these bullets under the category:

  • How John develops a core premise from a single compelling “what if?” question.
  • How character voices can reshape a project, as Kristen Winters eventually grew into a larger protagonist role in the series.
  • How collaboration works in practice, with John driving the larger architecture and Leanne strengthening detail, dialogue, and emotional depth.
  • How to manage large story systems involving multiple timelines, factions, technologies, and arcs without losing reader clarity.
  • How to think beyond the book and design stories for adaptation across media.

About John as a Speaker

John blends degrees in English, Education, and an MS in Cognitive Systems with deep experience in technology and cloud infrastructure to craft stories that feel cinematic yet scientifically grounded.

His Time Forward Trilogy, beginning with The Future’s Dark Past and Future Unfolds, follows AI visionary Hunter Coburn, super soldier Kristen Winters, and the Time Forward Project as they race through time to stop a world‑ending nuclear war and confront the birth of true artificial intelligence.

On stage, John uses these worlds as a live laboratory to explore near‑future AI, ethics, existential risk, and how better stories can lead to better decisions.

The series has earned major recognition, including the Grand Prize in the Cygnus Sci‑Fi competition, and sits at the center of a growing transmedia vision with The Story Plant and Gramarye Media.
